The company Savske elektrarne Ljubljana d.o.o. boasts a long tradition in its main economic activity – the production of electrical energy in hydroelectric power plants. HE Završnica as the oldest hydroelectric power plant in the company have been in operation since 1914, and since then, HE Moste, HE Mavčiče, HE Medvode, and HE Vrhovo have been built. Due to numerous reorganizations in the electro-energy sector, the company has had its current name only since 1965. With the change in the Articles of Association of the limited liability company Savske elektrarne Ljubljana d.o.o., the supervisory board of the company was abolished on November 17, 2017.

Today, Savske elektrarne Ljubljana d.o.o. is a limited liability capital company, 100% owned by GEN energija d.o.o.

Production Facilities

The company’s primary activity is the production of electrical energy in hydroelectric power plants (NACE code 35.111).

In addition to its core activity, which is the production of electrical energy, the company also performs the functions of operation and maintenance to ensure the uninterrupted production of electrical energy in hydroelectric power plants (maintenance of electro-energy, mechanical, and telecommunication equipment, as well as facilities). At the same time, the company also provides engineering services for electro-energy facilities and equipment, assembly, testing, measurements, and commissioning.
